Youth Educational Program
PCC’s youth educational program, "Let’s T.A.L.K. (take another look)" was written especially to reach teens where they are at. It is a 4-week interactive program that is highly informative and interesting because it includes games and visuals. Pregnancy Counseling Center Educators are able to impact teens in a way that many adults can not. We are available to speak in public and private classrooms, as well as youth conferences and group meetings. Here is a sample of the great information that we provide through our Let's T.A.L.K. program:
"Window to the Womb"
Using videos, life-size fetal models and full color photos, the first presentation covers the three trimesters of fetal development. We provide students with the legal and practical aspects of pregnancy options as well as medical procedures used to terminate pregnancy.
"The A.I.D.S Arena"
This presentation is given in a straightforward and honest manner, to help young people understand the truth about AIDS. Visuals and activities are used to lighten the seriousness, while reinforcing the message.
"I'm Worth Waiting For"
The third presentation encourages students to consider postponing sexual activity until marriage. We examine life goals and create a deeper awareness of the facts about sexually transmitted disease, and the heartache of unplanned pregnancy.
"Being Heard"
Since many students desire to stay away from risk activities but lack the confidence to do so, the optional fourth Let's T.A.L.K. session, helps students gain the confidence and skills necessary for saying 'no'. This question and answer session is an excellent opportuity for discussion and follow-up from the former sessions.
